How long does a session last? Do you just work on my problem areas?
Sessions last an average of 35 minutes. Your problem areas are focused on, but time is given to other areas to stimulate general circulation and elimination.

How many sessions before I see results?
The average women will need 14 to 20 treatments to achieve optimal results. Treatments are generally 35 minutes in duration, at least twice a week. Once a month follow-up treatments are recommended to maintain results.

Factors influencing cellulite and fat.
Often referred to as the "orange-peel" or "cottage-cheese" effect, cellulite plagues over 90% of women today. Although advancing age, lifestyle habits, hormonal factors, hydration levels, stress, medications, and body types may predispose certain woman to cellulite and fat retention, all women are at risk. Resistant to diet and exercise, cellulite affects even young, thin women who are devoted followers of stringent exercise and nutritional regimens.
There is a remarkable sexual differentiation in the skin’s hypodermis; in females, the septum is perpendicular to the skin surface, as components of the vertical pockets. In males, the septa intersect, forming smaller, polygonal-shaped chambers. The finer male hypodermis, housed within a thicker dermis, is less influenced by deformed fat cells (adipocytes) and less likely to store fat. This anatomical distinction explains why men do not show cellulite the way women do.
Both men and women, however, suffer from exercise and diet resistant fat retention, resulting in stomach paunches, love handles and the like…
Normal work of vascular system
When normal fatty tissue is stored, it is held in place by a network of collagen and elastin fibers and is supplied by a network of vascular and lymph vessels.
When the system works well, the vascular system takes energy from the fat stores when required, and toxins are flushed away via the lymph.
Cellulite and Fat Retention…
Metabolically inactive, fat cells do not release fatty acids of their own accord. When the body’s natural waste removal system starts to fail, waste products build up in fat cells and the connective tissue become saturated with fluids, inflamed and swollen. As fat cells enlarge, they also reorganize themselves. Excess fat storage puts lateral pressure on the vertically attached skin partitions and causes the cell membrane to become distorted, losing elasticity, shape and definition. The growing adipocytesalso destroy the network of collagen and elastin fibers. These respond by thickening, forming hard pockets that encroach upon vascular and lymphatic vessels, further inhibiting microcirculation and the release of fatty acids. Externally, the skin develops an unsightly puckered or dimpled appearance.
Diagnose and treat !
Cellulite can be diagnosed and categorised into four stages. The more advanced the condition of cellulite, the greater the effort required to treat it.
When treating cellulite, the congested lymph and waste system needs to be cleared, the fibrosis around the hardened pockets of fat needs to be softened or broken down and the weak network of collagen and elastin fibers needs to be strengthened and re-modeled.
LIPOMASSAGE by ENDERMOLOGIE® will treat cellulite and fat retention with long-lasting results.
How long do I have to wait after liposuction or a tummy tuck to receive treatment?
This depends, but usually you can start once the compressive garments come off. However, Endermologie ® is an excellent way to prepare the skin for liposuction or a tummy tuck before surgery ~ allowing for optimal results.
Does the machine tone the skin? Will I lose weight?
You will most likely notice an improvement in skin tone after using the LPG machine. Appearance of stretch marks and loose skin may be improved. It is not a weight loss machine. However, many clients report being able to lose weight, especially fat weight, more easily while using the machine than they ever could before. Our clients also report a suppression in their appetites.

What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a skin condition that affects more than 90% of women. It is the "orange peel" skin most women begin to notice in their 20s. It tends to worsen with age and is related to hormonal variations. Resulting from circulation impairment on a micro level, cellulite is a vicious circle involving abnormal fluid retention in connective tissue and enlargement of fat cells.
What will I feel like afterwards?
Most clients report a feeling of relaxation, an increase in energy and a suppression of their appetites. Since the Lymphatic system is stimulated, it is recommended that you drink at least two liters of water every day during the duration of your treatment in order to aid in elimination of the mobilized fat. Minor temporary bruising may occur.
Does it hurt? Are there any side effects?
The sensation is similar to a deep massage and most clients find it quite pleasant. The strength of the treatment can be individually adjusted to our comfort level.

Do diet and exercise get rid of cellulite?
Since cellulite is a complex problem, it must be addressed from the subcutaneous layer, to act on fluid retention. This fluid retention is abnormal. It is not the kind of fluid you would lose by exercising - it is a combination of fluid and toxins that have built up in the connective tissues. Whereas both diet and exercise affect your muscles and deep fat, they fail to act on the underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissue of your skin. Even women who exercise regularly and follow a low fat-diet may still have cellulite. Think of it as - you go to the gym to exercise your muscles and deep fat, and you come to us for endermologie to exercise your skin.

Does this replace exercise?
No. In fact, it is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise to the routine you follow while undergoing Endermologie® treatments. In most cases, this improves results. It really works on a different area than exercise ~ which effects the deeper structures like deep fat and muscles, which is why even women who work out 5 days a week still have cellulite, because they haven't given their skin a work out.

Does this treatment work on men also?
Definitely ~ especially for problem areas such as "love handles", stomachs and loose pectoral tissues.

How long do the results last??
For several months up to a few years, depending on age, lifestyle, and hormonal changes. Once-a-month maintenance sessions are recommended after completion of the initial sessions, which maintains the results and keeps the toxins and abnormal fluid from building back up in the connective tissues.
Why are photos taken before and after the session of treatments?
Photos as well as measurements are taken to provide an accurate record of improvements and to help the Endermologie practitioner provide better treatments through comparative analysis. Please plan on wearing the same underwear that you wore the very first photo session, for each photo session. There are a minimum of three photo sessions. The first treatment, the middle treatment and for your final treatment.
